How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Composite midpoint quadrature for a distributed delay history

Definition

Inputs and admissibility. Take a delay τ>0, an integer m≥1, a continuous kernel K:[0,τ]→R, and the completed stored piecewise-linear history y^h:[−τ,Th]→Rd from Explicit Euler with a stored piecewise-linear delay history, with h=τ/m and Th=Nh for an integer N≥1. Choose an integer refinement factor q≥1 and a query index n∈{0,…,N}. Then tn=nh and tn−θ∈[−τ,Th] for every θ∈[0,τ], so all evaluations below are defined.

Output. Return the vector I^K,h,r(tn)∈Rd given by the following finite computation.

  1. Set r=qm, Δ=τ/r=h/q, initialize A=0∈Rd, and set θj=(j+1/2)Δ for each j=0,…,r−1.

  2. For j=0,…,r−1, add ΔK(θj)y^h(tn−θj) to A.

  3. Return A, equivalently I^K,h,r(tn)=Δ∑j=0r−1K(θj)y^h(tn−θj).

Each history query uses the piecewise-linear interpolant, including queries between Euler nodes.

Remarks

The evaluation, arithmetic and working-storage counts, and the alignment of Euler-history knots with quadrature-cell endpoints, are proved in Stored retarded Euler and distributed midpoint work, storage, and grid alignment.

9 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
