How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Tabular Dyna-Q with a deterministic last-observation model
Definition
Input: a finite continuing discounted MDP with , deterministic one-step rewards in and deterministic next states at every state–action pair, an initial state , a behavior rule that selects an admissible action at each visited state, an integer of planning updates per real interaction, a step-size schedule assigning to each Q-table update, and a finite initial action-value table , where . An episodic task may be represented by an ordinary transition to its reset state. Initialize an empty model table and, for each state , an empty set .
For each real interaction, let be the current state, choose using the behavior rule, execute it in the environment, and observe reward and next state . Apply one tabular Q-learning update to :
Record the deterministic response and insert into . Then perform planning updates: choose uniformly a state from , choose uniformly an action from its , retrieve the saved response , and apply the same Q-learning update with and the next scheduled step size. The model is queried only at previously experienced pairs. In the stated deterministic environment the stored response is exact after that pair is first observed. After the planning updates, set the current state to and output the updated Q table together with the real action for this interaction. Repeat for successive real interactions indefinitely, unless the caller stops the run. The procedure makes no claim that the model is accurate at unseen pairs or in a stochastic environment, and it asserts no convergence guarantee.

18 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
