How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Plug-and-play ISTA with a denoiser
Definition
Let , , let be continuously differentiable, let be a supplied deterministic map used in the denoising step, and choose . Define The output is the sequence . This definition imposes no convexity, proximal representation, exact-MMSE identity, or convergence property on .
Here “denoiser” names the role of the plug-in map; Borel measurability and training under a signal-corruption law, as in the learned-estimator interface, are not assumed.
The diagram depicts the data flow for one update; the displayed recurrence, not the diagram, defines the iteration.
\begin{tikzpicture}[x=1.3cm,y=0.9cm,>=stealth]
\node at (0,0) (old) {$x_{t-1}$};
\node at (3,0) (grad) {$z_t=x_{t-1}-\gamma\nabla g(x_{t-1})$};
\node at (7,0) (den) {$x_t=\widetilde D_\sigma(z_t)$};
\draw[->] (old) -- (grad);
\draw[->] (grad) -- (den);

- A biased one-pixel CNN approximates but is not the exact MMSE denoiser Example
- An arbitrary denoiser does not inherit the exact-MMSE objective Remark
- Exact-MMSE PnP-ISTA has monotone objective and vanishing gradient Theorem
Dependency tree · two levels
24 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result. Click elsewhere on the chart to enlarge it.
