How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
A PAC-Bayes bound for a finite tuning grid
Statement
Let and be probability spaces. Let , and let be -measurable. Draw from the product law , where , and define and . Fix independently of and define as the supremum of over finite measurable partitions of , with zero-numerator terms equal to and positive-numerator/zero-denominator terms equal to . Let be a nonempty finite set fixed independently of the sample. For every , with probability at least over the sample, simultaneously for every probability measure satisfying for each and every ,

The PAC-Bayes KL generalization bound: for each fixed and confidence value, one event controls every posterior average.
The natural logarithm as the inverse of the exponential function: denotes the natural logarithm, inverse to the real exponential on positive reals.
PAC-Bayes priors, posteriors, and relative entropy: a posterior is a probability measure absolutely continuous with respect to the sample-independent prior; relative entropy is the supremum over finite measurable partitions.

Proof
Given: The hypotheses in the Statement.
For each , apply [F1] with confidence . Its event has probability at least , and on it every posterior satisfies the bound with by [F3].
The intersection of these events has probability at least by [F2]. On that single event the inequality holds for every and every posterior, which is the claim.

33 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
