How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Containment for adaptive MCMC
Definition
Use the adaptive MCMC setup of Diminishing adaptation. For , a state , and a fixed parameter , define the convergence time with . The power is the -fold composition of the fixed kernel ; it is not the adaptive transition law. Assume is measurable for each and .
For a specified initial probability law of , the adaptive process has containment if for every there is an integer such that A process initialized at the fixed pair is the special case . Thus containment says that the fixed-kernel convergence times, evaluated at the current state and parameter, form a sequence bounded in probability under the specified initial law. It does not assert a uniform deterministic bound for every possible state and parameter.

- Common drift and minorization give containment under diminishing adaptation, strong aperiodicity, and a finite initial V-moment Corollary
- Diminishing adaptation with loss of containment Example
- Adaptive MCMC marginal convergence under diminishing adaptation with uniform ergodicity or containment Theorem
Dependency tree · two levels
7 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
