How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Binary-feature Bernoulli model

Definition

Let d≥1 be an integer, let θ∈{−1,+1}d, and let 0<τ≤1/2. The (θ,τ) binary-feature Bernoulli model is the probability law Pθ,τ on {−1,+1}d×{−1,+1} defined by Pθ,τ({(x,y)})=12∏j=1d[(12+τ)1{xj=yθj}+(12−τ)1{xj=−yθj}]. Thus Y is uniform on {−1,+1} and, conditional on Y=y, the feature coordinates are independent, with Xj=yθj with probability 1/2+τ and Xj=−yθj with probability 1/2−τ. The displayed masses sum to one because each coordinate factor sums to one over its two possible signs and the label weights sum to one. The uniform-prior experiment used below draws Θ uniformly from {−1,+1}d and then draws observations conditionally independently from PΘ,τ.

Probability measures and probability spaces: a probability law has total mass one.

Independent random elements: for each fixed y, coordinate independence is taken under the conditional probability law given Y=y; in the prior experiment, observation independence is taken under each conditional law given Θ=θ.

7 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
