How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Canonical basic sets for split Hecke specializations
Definition
Let be a Noetherian commutative local domain, with fraction field , maximal ideal and residue field . Allow a specified field extension as the specialization field. The nonfield DVR case is included: a nonfield discrete valuation ring is equivalently a local PID with nonzero maximal ideal (Equivalent characterizations of a DVR); the original residue-field specialization is . Let be a finite free -algebra, so it has finite rank as an -module. Assume the generic algebra is split semisimple, meaning a finite product of full matrix algebras over ; assume is split, meaning each simple module remains simple after extending the field. A simple module is a nonzero module with no proper nonzero submodule. Write and for their isomorphism classes of simple modules. For each , choose an -stable -lattice , meaning a finite free -submodule spanning over . Assume each simple occurs in at least one reduction , so every column below is nonzero. For such , let
be the multiplicity of among the composition factors of this finite-dimensional -module. A composition series is a finite strict submodule chain with simple successive quotients; one exists by induction on module dimension, and Jordan–Hölder makes its multiplicities independent of the chosen series (Composition series and composition factors of an object, Jordan-Holder theorem in an abelian category). The matrix is the decomposition matrix for these chosen lattices. This definition makes no choice-independence assertion for arbitrary local orders. The finite-Weyl theorem below supplies free integral models and proves their multiplicities independent in its complete local setting; the rank-one worked specialization gives its lattices directly.
Fix an integer-valued statistic on . In Geck's finite-Weyl Hecke convention this is the Schur-element exponent denoted ; its particular values do not enter the identity-matrix case. Put
A subset is a canonical basic set (relative to and ) if there is a bijection from to satisfying
and, for every ,
This is a definition only; it makes no claim that such a subset exists in every specialization.

An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
