How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Polynomial invariants of a rational algebraic-group action
Definition
Let be a field. An affine algebraic group over is an affine variety with algebraic multiplication, identity, and inverse maps satisfying the group axioms. Its coordinate algebra has comultiplication and counit , the pullbacks of multiplication and the identity map. A finite-dimensional rational left -module is a finite-dimensional -vector space with a -linear coaction satisfying and ; equivalently it is a morphism of varieties defining an algebraic left action. With this left-comodule convention the left action is recovered by ; equivalently evaluated at is . The inverse is necessary because evaluation of the displayed left coaction directly at gives a right action. Its affine coordinate ring is . For every integer , the diagonal action on induces a coaction by pullback of the action morphism. The invariant subring is This is the algebraic-group coaction convention; it does not identify invariants of the finite group of -points with .
