How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Shared-parameter recurrent neural network

Definition

Fix positive finite dimensions dx,dh,dy, a finite horizon T∈N, a parameter set Θ, an initial state h0∈Rdh, and inputs x1,…,xT∈Rdx. A shared-parameter recurrent neural network is specified by a state map F:Rdh×Rdx×Θ→Rdh and, optionally, an output map G:Rdh×Rdx×Θ→Rdy. For a fixed θ∈Θ, it computes ht=F(ht−1,xt;θ) and, when G is supplied, yt=G(ht,xt;θ) for 1≤t≤T, using the same θ at every time. Its unrolling is the finite directed acyclic computation graph whose vertices are the input, state, output, and map-evaluation occurrences and whose edges record which values each evaluation uses. The folded schematic may show a feedback edge, while the time-indexed unrolled graph is acyclic.

For horizon T=2, the following TikZ graph shows the dependency edges in the unrolling. The boxes F1,F2 are two time-indexed occurrences of the same map F; the dashed edges indicate that both occurrences receive the identical parameter θ. The graph omits the optional output map G.
