How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Square independent-component model with standardized sources
Definition
Let and let be random vectors in , considered through their probability laws. A square independent-component representation of is a representation in distribution
where is an invertible mixing matrix and has mutually independent real-valued components. Mutual independence means that for all Borel sets ,
Each source is standardized: and . A source is Gaussian if its law has density , and is non-Gaussian otherwise. All vectors are columns and matrix transposes use the standard Euclidean inner product. The definition specifies a latent representation, not a claim that it can be recovered uniquely from the law of .
