How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

One-Mode CAR and Its Two Majorana Matrices

Example

For one mode, use the ordered orthonormal basis e∅,e{1} of F1. The annihilator and its adjoint are

a=(0100),a†=(0010).

The Majorana generators are the Pauli matrices

γ1=a+a†=(0110),γ2=i(a†−a)=(0−ii0).

Facts & Assumptions

Given: The one-mode CAR algebra, the plus-Q Clifford convention, and the ordered occupation basis (e∅,e{1}).

Verification

1.1givenF1algebra

The displayed matrices act by ae∅=0, ae{1}=e∅, a†e∅=e{1}, and a†e{1}=0. Thus a2=(a†)2=0, while aa†=diag⁡(1,0) and a†a=diag⁡(0,1), so {a,a†}=I. This verifies the one-mode CAR relations.

2.1givenF1step 1.1algebra

Substitution into the Majorana formulas gives the two displayed Pauli matrices. Direct multiplication gives γ12=γ22=I and γ1γ2+γ2γ1=0; both matrices are self-adjoint. Hence they represent the two orthogonal plus-Q Clifford generators.

3.1givenF1algebra∎

The four matrices aa†, a, a†, and a†a are respectively the matrix units E00,E01,E10,E11, so the one-mode algebra is all of M2(C), as asserted by the finite-mode theorem.

10 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
