How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Harmonic TPFA flux on a rectangular Voronoï mesh
Example
Take and the two rectangular cells and . Their centers are and , so the shared vertical face is orthogonal to the center segment. Set , use , and impose its exact face-center values on the six cell faces on the outer boundary. The exact source is .
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The two-cell mesh and data above, and the TPFA transmissibilities and signed fluxes from Orthogonal TPFA diffusion with harmonic face transmissibility.
Finite-volume cell-face meshes and geometric regularity: ; the shared face has length , and each outer face has length .
Orthogonal TPFA diffusion with harmonic face transmissibility: on an interior face, and on a boundary face.
Verification
The center-to-center distance across the shared face is , with half-distances . Thus . The left and right boundary half-distances are , so their transmissibilities are ; top and bottom center-to-face displacements are vertical and hence orthogonal to those faces. The mesh satisfies the TPFA orthogonality requirements.
The cell values are and . At the shared face, and . On the left boundary the outward flux is , and on the right boundary it is . The top and bottom boundary fluxes vanish because their face-center values equal the adjacent cell-center values. Each cell balance therefore sums to zero, and the shared flux matches the exact outward diffusive flux from .

2 results within one dependency step of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
