How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
A quasi-Hopf structure from a normalized 3-cocycle on C2
Statement
Let with addition modulo , let over , and set for the delta-function basis . Define for and These data define a quasi-Hopf algebra. Its associator acts by on the triple tensor product of three copies of the degree- simple module. This example asserts as an element of ; it does not assert that the quasi-Hopf algebra is not twist-equivalent to a Hopf algebra.
Example
The algebra has pointwise multiplication and unit . All tensor products are algebraic over .
Facts & Assumptions
Given: with addition modulo , the pointwise function algebra , the maps , and the elements in the Statement.
Quasi-bialgebras, quasi-antipodes, and quasi-Hopf algebras: and are unital algebra maps; quasi-coassociativity, the pentagon, normalization, and the four quasi-antipode identities are the displayed equations in this convention.
Modules over a quasi-bialgebra form a monoidal category: the reassociator on left modules is the action of from to .
Verification
The pointwise idempotents are orthogonal and sum to . The formula for is multiplicative because for and equals for ; it is unital since . Both iterated coproducts send to , and the two counit equations hold on each .
Each coefficient of is or on an orthogonal idempotent, so . The algebra is commutative and is coassociative, hence commutes with and quasi-coassociativity follows. The normalization holds because . The pentagon, evaluated at , is the scalar identity Writing all sums modulo , both exponents are , so the identity holds for all sixteen quadruples.
For , . In the first quasi-antipode equation, a product vanishes unless ; this happens for both pairs when and for neither pair when . The sum is therefore for and for , exactly . The second equation has the same two cases with , and yields .
In and , a product of three basis idempotents is nonzero only when . For its coefficient times is ; for it is . Hence both normalization sums are . The map is the identity and is bijective, so all quasi-Hopf axioms hold.
The one-dimensional module on which acts as and as has reassociator scalar by [F2]. Since that coefficient of is not the coefficient of , . The calculation establishes only the stated associator and makes no claim about twist equivalence.

Dependency tree · two levels
11 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
