How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Example

Assume char(k)2, and let C:=V(x2+y21)Ak2. The line through (1,0) of slope t meets C again at x=1t21+t2,y=2t1+t2. This gives a rational map A1C.

On the dense open subset of C where x1, the inverse parameter is t=yx+1. Substituting the displayed parametrization shows that these two formulas are mutually inverse on the common domain where 1+t20 and x+10. Thus the affine circle is birational to the affine line.
