How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Inexact local solves enter through spectral-equivalence constants
Example
Take and the two coordinate subspaces. Exact local matrices are , so the exact preconditioner is and its condition number is . Choose inexact local matrices and . They satisfy , while and . The theorem's bound is .
Facts & Assumptions
Given: , for , and the inexact local matrices above.
The additive Schwarz theorem gives under (Additive Schwarz condition bound from stable decomposition and synthesis).
The Schwarz definition gives and (Finite-dimensional Schwarz subspace-correction data).
Verification
The coordinate decomposition is stable with , and its synthesis bound is because . Exact local matrices equal , so [F2] gives and condition number .
The inexact local inverses are and , so [F2] gives . Its eigenvalues are and , hence . The choices and satisfy the local order bounds.
Substitution of , , and into [F1] gives the rigorous upper bound , which contains the directly computed value .

Dependency tree · two levels
11 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
