How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
An irreducible unitary affine module has irreducible ground space
Statement
If is an irreducible positive-energy unitary module as in Positive-energy unitary module for an affine current algebra, then its ground space is an irreducible module for the compact zero-mode algebra .
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The grading, mode adjoints, finite-dimensional energy spaces, and irreducibility in the definition.
Positive-energy unitary module for an affine current algebra: is finite-dimensional and nonzero, zero modes preserve , and for .
Untwisted affine central extension: the commutator of two current modes is one current mode plus a scalar central term.
Proof
Among the nonzero -invariant subspaces of finite-dimensional , choose one, , of least positive dimension. Its orthogonal complement is invariant: if and , then . Thus is an irreducible -module.
Every positive current mode annihilates , since it lowers the nonnegative energy below zero; zero modes preserve . Any finite word in current modes can be reordered into negative modes, then zero modes, then positive modes by repeatedly using . Each commutator term has shorter word length by [F2], so induction on word length and the finite number of inversions gives a finite reordering. Positive modes then kill , and negative modes raise energy. Thus the current submodule generated by has ground space exactly . It is nonzero, so irreducibility of makes it all of ; hence .

9 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
