How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: A path-connected CW space and the bordism classes of closed oriented -manifolds equipped with maps to .
A bordism class is represented by a pair , and its equivalence is witnessed by a compact oriented bordism with an extending map to . Oriented bordism groups of maps to a space
Proof
The sum is well-defined: if are bordisms witnessing equivalences of pairs for , then with map is a bordism witnessing the equivalence of the disjoint unions. Boundary orientations are inherited componentwise.
Disjoint union is associative and commutative up to the orientation-preserving diffeomorphisms that rebracket or permute its components; composing the maps with these diffeomorphisms preserves the bordism classes. The empty manifold with its unique map is a two-sided identity.
The cylinder with map has boundary under the product orientation convention. Thus is a two-sided inverse of , so the operation is an abelian group operation.

1 result within one dependency step of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
