How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Convergence in probability plus a higher-moment bound implies Lp convergence
Statement
Let . Suppose random vectors in a fixed finite-dimensional Euclidean space satisfy in probability, , and . Then .
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The moment, dimension, and convergence hypotheses in the Statement.
Convergence in probability means for every .
and the stated th moments are uniformly bounded.
Proof
Given: The hypotheses in the Statement.
Put . The triangle inequality and convexity of on give , so [A2] implies .
For any , split according to , , and . On these three events, respectively, , , and . Therefore For fixed , the probability term tends to zero by [A1]; then letting and proves .
