How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Contrastive transfer with a within-class covariance penalty
Statement
Assume the Axiom of Choice and the one-negative latent-class model with . Fix either source hinge or logistic loss, , and a measurable exact empirical minimizer satisfying for every almost surely, under the measurability hypotheses of the uniform-generalization result. For each comparator and every , with probability at least over the IID triplet sample,
where is the infimum of the average binary-task risk over all linear classifiers, is the within-class covariance deviation, and
is the uniform-deviation quantity for the same sample and loss. The event is simultaneous for all comparators.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: AC, the one-negative model with , either source loss, a measurable exact empirical minimizer, , and .
AC enters through the empirical-minimizer transfer theorem's uniform-generalization supplier. The Axiom of Choice, Contrastive transfer bound with class collisions
The average risk infimum over all linear weights is at most the risk of the particular class-mean weight: . Latent-class contrastive representation learning
With probability at least , simultaneously for every comparator , . Contrastive transfer bound with class collisions
For , and . If , and . Class-collision loss is bounded by within-class covariance deviation
Proof
Given: The hypotheses in the Statement and Facts & Assumptions.
By the definition of as an infimum over all linear weights, its value for is at most the risk of the particular mean weight, so .
On the event in [F2], fix any comparator . If , [F3] gives . If , the same inequality is equality under the stipulated convention .
Divide the inequality in step 1.2 by and substitute it into [F2]. Together with step 1.1, this gives the displayed bound for every comparator on the same event, whose probability is at least .

22 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
