How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Lie supermodules are graded enveloping-superalgebra modules
Statement
Let be a complex Lie superalgebra. Restriction along and extension by the universal property give mutually inverse correspondences between left -supermodules and unital graded left -modules. The correspondences preserve parity-preserving homomorphisms.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: A complex Lie superalgebra , a graded vector space , and either of the two module structures in the Statement.
Lie supermodules and representations: a supermodule action satisfies , and its homomorphisms preserve parity and the action.
Universal enveloping superalgebra: is the tensor quotient imposing .
Universal property of the enveloping superalgebra: every parity-preserving Lie map into an associative superalgebra with its supercommutator extends uniquely to a unital associative-superalgebra map from .
Associative superalgebra over the complex numbers: the product in a unital associative superalgebra respects its grading, and its unit is even.
Proof
With pointwise addition and scalar multiplication, is a complex vector space: sums and scalar multiples of linear maps are linear, and its vector-space laws hold pointwise in . Write for the endomorphisms preserving and for those interchanging them. If is the projection onto , every decomposes uniquely as , where and ; hence these spaces give a direct-sum grading. Composition sends parities to because an operator of parity maps into , and the identity is even. Composition is associative and complex-bilinear, so by [F4] this makes a unital associative superalgebra. Given a -supermodule, each homogeneous acts as a parity- endomorphism . The module identity in [F1] says exactly that this map preserves the Lie bracket into the endomorphism supercommutator, so [F3] extends it uniquely to a unital graded algebra action of .
Conversely, restrict a unital graded left -module action along . Applying the quotient relation [F2] to gives ; grading and bilinearity are inherited from the module action. Thus the restriction is a -supermodule.
Starting from a supermodule, the extension in [F3] restricts to the original action by its defining property. Starting from a -module, the extension of its restriction agrees with the original action on every generator and on the unit; these generate the quotient algebra by [F2], so the actions agree on all of .
A parity-preserving linear map intertwines the -actions exactly when it intertwines the restrictions of the -actions: one direction is restriction, and the other follows on products of generators and then on finite linear combinations. The correspondence is therefore mutually inverse on objects and morphisms.

12 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
