How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
CFL endpoint can have linear growth
Pure mathematics; no physical premise.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: , , , , , zero forcing, and an arbitrary finite horizon .
The staggered algorithm updates and (Staggered compatible leapfrog).
The matrix in the strict CFL condition is and is its induced Euclidean operator norm (CFL energy stability and finite termination).
Counterexample
These one-dimensional data satisfy the matrix assumptions of the algorithm. Their positive mass roots equal , so [F2] gives and , exactly the endpoint in the refuted extension.
Write . By [F1], with . Set . Direct multiplication gives and , so and the binomial formula yields for every integer .
For the nonzero initial state , one has . The reverse triangle inequality therefore gives . These outputs occur in the algorithm for each finite horizon and their norm ratio to is unbounded as grows. No constant independent of can satisfy the refuted estimate.
