How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Ergodicity and mixing for a selected probability map

Definition

Let (X,A,μ,T) be a probability-preserving system: μ(X)=1, T:X→X is measurable, and μ(T−1E)=μ(E) for every E∈A (Measure-preserving transformations and systems). The ergodicity convention is that every strictly invariant set E∈A, meaning T−1E=E, has measure zero or one, as in Ergodicity relative to an invariant measure.

For E,F∈A and integer n≥0, put dn(E,F)=μ(E∩T−nF)−μ(E)μ(F). The map is strongly mixing if dn(E,F)→0 for every measurable pair (E,F). It is weakly mixing if 1N∑n=0N−1∣dn(E,F)∣⟶0 for every such pair as N→∞. Thus the absolute value is inside the Cesàro average, exactly as in Strong and weak mixing on a probability space. These are properties of the selected discrete map T and its selected invariant probability μ; no flow-level property is implicit.
