How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Constant-radius Bertotti-Robinson product data

Sphere conventions

Write S2={p∈R3:p⋅p=1} with its usual smooth structure and induced round metric as in Euclidean spheres and closed balls as subspaces of Rn and The round metric on the sphere as an induced metric. Explicitly, TpS2={u∈R3:p⋅u=0} and γS2,p(u,v):=u⋅v. Use the outward orientation, whose area form is ωS2,p(u,v):=det⁡(p,u,v), with determinant in the standard orientation of R3.

Definition

Let S2={n∈R3:∣n∣=1} carry its induced unit round metric γS2 and outward area form ωS2. Let L>0 have length units. Choose either (i) f(z)=z2 on an open J⊂(0,∞), or (ii) f(z)=1+z2 on an open J⊂R. The coordinate z and τ are dimensionless. On ML,f=Rτ×Jz×S2, orient by dτ∧dz∧ωS2 and define

gL,f=L2(−f(z)dτ2+f(z)−1dz2+γS2),FL=−L dτ∧dz.

The smooth field N=(Lf)−1∂τ is unit timelike; it selects the future direction. This explicit metric-field tuple is the Bertotti-Robinson product data for this library. “Electrovac” refers to the equations in Geometric electrovac equations and flux normalization and is not asserted by this definition. The product has sphere radius L at every base point.
