How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Smooth positive-density barotropic Euler model
A smooth unforced inviscid barotropic continuum branch with positive density and a specified C1 pressure law. The pressure law is a model closure; no solution existence, response-sign assumption or empirical applicability is asserted.
Definition
Let be an open time interval, let be open, and let be a continuously differentiable pressure function. A smooth positive-density barotropic Euler solution is a pair of fields and satisfying Here , is the spatial gradient, and is the material acceleration. The constitutive stress is under the tension-positive traction convention. Thus “barotropic” means that pressure is a specified function of density alone, and “Euler” here means that the viscous stress is absent. No sign of is built into the definition; a positive acoustic response is a separate hypothesis where used. In SI interpretation, is in , in , in , and in . The model gives equations for a smooth solution and asserts no existence theorem.
