How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Periodic torus calculus

Definition

For an integer d≥1, set Td:=Rd/(2πZ)d and let Qd:=[0,2π]d be its chosen fundamental cube. A scalar or vector field on Td is represented by its (2πZ)d-periodic lift to Rd. For k≥0 and m≥1, Cperk(Td;Rm) consists of such lifts whose componentwise partial derivatives through order k exist, are continuous and periodic, and are bounded, uniformly continuous, and Riemann integrable on Qd. For a scalar field f and a vector field v=(v1,…,vd), define

∇f:=(∂1f,…,∂df),div⁡v:=∑j=1d∂jvj,Δf:=∑j=1d∂j2f.

The integral of an integrable scalar field over Td means its Riemann integral over Qd. For a matrix field A=(Aij), ∣A∣2:=∑i,j∣Aij∣2. The notation C1([0,T];Cperk) means that the field is continuously differentiable in time in the supremum norms of its spatial derivatives through order k. These are dimensionless mathematical conventions; they assign no physical units.
