How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Forcing preorders, compatibility and filters

Definition

A forcing preorder (P,≤) is a nonempty set with a reflexive transitive relation. The convention is that q≤p means q is stronger than p; antisymmetry is not required. Conditions p,q are compatible if there exists r∈P with r≤p and r≤q. They are incompatible, written p⊥q, if there is no such r.

A forcing filter is a nonempty subset G⊆P that is upward closed and internally downward directed: if p∈G and p≤q, then q∈G; if p,q∈G, some r∈G satisfies r≤p,q. In particular the empty subset is not a forcing filter. A subset D⊆P is dense when for every p∈P there exists q∈D with q≤p.

There need not be a weakest condition, binary meets, or a zero condition. The directedness condition does not presume a meet operation or demand closure under a nonexistent operation. No genericity requirement is included in the definition of a forcing filter. All conventions are over ZF.
