How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Admissible presymplectic reduction and Hamiltonian generators

Definition

Let S be a specified finite-dimensional smooth solution manifold with specified admissible variations and boundary conditions, and let Ω be a smooth closed two-form on S, obtained by restricting an integrated form ΩΣ from the chosen covariant variation data. The pair (S,Ω) is presymplectic when Ω is allowed to be degenerate. At p∈S, its pointwise null space is ker⁡Ωp:={v∈TpS:Ωp(v,w)=0 for every w∈TpS}. A presymplectic reduction is defined here only when there is a specified smooth Hausdorff manifold R and a surjective submersion q:S→R with connected fibers such that ker⁡(dqp)=ker⁡Ωp(p∈S), where ker⁡(dqp) consists of tangent vectors mapped to zero by the differential. This condition makes the quotient fibers exactly the connected directions annihilated by Ω. The reduction further requires a smooth closed nondegenerate two-form Ωˉ on R satisfying q∗Ωˉ=Ω. For a smooth vector field X and smooth function H on a specified phase space, the Hamiltonian convention is ιXΩ=dH.

Remarks

The finite-dimensional proposition for a coisotropic vector subspace applies to tangent linear models only. This definition does not establish a smooth quotient of an infinite-dimensional gravitational solution space. No falloff, boundary condition, constant-rank property, or existence of such a quotient is asserted here. These classical identities construct no measure, Hilbert space, or anomaly-free quantization. Thermal first-law and entropy interpretations are assigned to thermodynamics and general relativity; topological quantum field theory quantization is assigned to quantum field theory.
