How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Covariant field families and variations
Definition
Let be a smooth four-manifold and let be a smooth fibre bundle. A field configuration is a smooth section , so . For a finite-dimensional smooth manifold , a smooth field family is a smooth map with for all ; it gives configurations . For , the variation at is the tangent vector , where and . In a local fibre chart this is the ordinary derivative of the field components with respect to the parameter. For commuting parameter coordinates , and .

Remarks
The parameter manifold is finite-dimensional. This definition does not assume that the full space of field configurations or its solution subset has a global infinite-dimensional manifold structure.
