How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Homological spectral sequence

Definition

A homological spectral sequence in an abelian category (Abelian category), starting at a specified integer r0≥0, consists of objects Ep,qr, maps dp,qr:Ep,qr→Ep−r,q+r−1r,drdr=0, for r≥r₀ and p,q∈ℤ, and specified isomorphisms αr:ker⁡(dp,qr)im⁡(dp+r,q−r+1r)→∼Ep,qr+1. The quotient has the meaning of Homology object of a chain complex; no direct sum of the whole family is assumed. The isomorphisms are data. First quadrant means the initial page vanishes unless p,q≥0; third quadrant means it vanishes unless p,q≤0. Bounded means that for each integer n only finitely many initial-page terms with p+q=n are nonzero. These support conditions persist because later terms are subquotients of earlier ones.
