How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Complex null momenta and helicity weights
Definition
Let with complex-bilinear form . This is for , the adopted coordinate convention. Coordinates have inverse-length units. Let and be separate two-dimensional complex vector spaces, with undotted components and dotted components ; no complex-conjugation relation is imposed between them.
Define the linear map by
where the dimensionless Pauli matrices are , , and . Its inverse sends to
For a matrix whose image is one-dimensional (rank one), a spinor factorization is a pair satisfying . The associated momentum is . Spinor factors have units of inverse square-root length, so their outer product has momentum units. A little-group rescaling is for dimensionless ; it leaves unchanged. On factorization pairs of a fixed , identify pairs related by such a rescaling; the spinor-helicity class of is an equivalence class for this action.
Set , , and , and use a second copy with dotted indices. Raise indices by and . Define angle and square brackets by and .
For and assigned half-integer helicity labels , an outgoing helicity- amplitude on a domain of spinor-factorization data is a function . Require to be invariant under independent little-group rescalings. The amplitude condition is, for each leg and each admissible ,
This definition imposes no rationality, factorization, or physical scattering assumption. The next item proves that every nonzero momentum with has a spinor factorization, unique up to the stated rescaling.
