How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Oriented finite-group lattice gauge operators
Pure finite-dimensional mathematics for group-valued edge labels on a finite cellulation; no empirical realization or perturbative claim.
Definition
Let be a finite group with identity . A closed connected surface means a compact, connected topological -manifold without boundary. A finite cellulation here is a finite decomposition of such a surface into vertices, edges, and faces, where each face interior is an open disk and its attaching boundary is a finite cyclic walk along edges. An oriented cellulation means that each edge has a chosen direction, recorded by its source and target; no orientation of the surface is assumed. Let be such a cellulation and write for its vertex, edge, and face sets. Each edge has source and target . For a configuration , the edge Hilbert space is , with orthonormal configuration basis .

Remarks
In the diagram, arrows specify edge orientations and labels the corresponding group element. The counterclockwise boundary walk from is , so its holonomy is . A gauge action at changes the two outgoing edge labels by left multiplication and therefore changes this based holonomy by conjugation, . The diagram illustrates the convention; it supplies no proof step.
