How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Tomita graph and standard modular data

Definition

Assume the Axiom of Choice. Let H be a complex Hilbert space with inner product linear in its first argument, let M⊆B(H) be a concrete von Neumann algebra, and let Ω be a unit vector cyclic and separating for M. Define D(S0)=MΩ and S0(xΩ)=x∗Ω for x∈M. Let S=S0‾ and write its polar decomposition as S=JΔ1/2. The preceding Tomita-operator lemma ensures this closure and polar data are well defined, with Δ positive self-adjoint and injective. For x∈B(H) and dimensionless t∈R, define σt(x):=ΔitxΔ−it. Set ω(x)=⟨xΩ,Ω⟩. The powers Δit are the bounded unitary imaginary powers from the unbounded Borel functional calculus. At this definition stage σt is defined on B(H); preservation of M is established by a separate theorem.
