How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Real Clifford group, Pin, and the two Spin subgroups
Definition
Let be a finite-dimensional nondegenerate real quadratic space with , and let use . Use the grading involution and Clifford conjugation from Clifford involutions and the norm of a vector product. Let and be the even and odd parts for word-length parity. Define the unrestricted twisted Clifford normalizer as the set
Define the normalized anisotropic vectors . For , Pin is the subgroup of generated by ; for , set Pin. Define
For definite signature, the conventional names Pin and Pin mean the groups in and , respectively. In mixed signature the subscript “full” is retained because the full even subgroup and the norm-one subgroup can have different images.
Remarks
The unrestricted normalizer's closure and homogeneity are local proof obligations in this pair. The scalar is included explicitly in dimension zero.
