How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Mechanical momentum and observer energy
Definitions of point-particle momentum and observer-relative energy in the adopted massive and null test sectors; no conservation or empirical claim.
Definition
Use the massive and null sectors as separately adopted in Massive spinless test-particle action and Massless test-particle action and momentum scale. For a massive body of constant mass , its mechanical four-momentum is , where along an admissible future timelike trajectory , with an interval with nonempty interior and parameter , put , and is its future tangent normalized by . The clock convention in the massive-sector adoption gives , so . In the null sector, the mechanical four-momentum is the separately specified nonzero future-null vector from the einbein formulation; no null proper time or is defined.
At an event, for any observer of Observers, rest spaces and the spatial projection at an event, define the spatial momentum and observer energy by
The projection identity and positive-definiteness of are supplied by The observer rest-space decomposition and the spatial projection. With SI units, has units kg m s, has the same units, and has units joules. This definition is pointwise and does not assert conservation, positivity, or an energy interpretation for an arbitrary vector field that is not an observer.
