How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Separated S-scheme
Definition
Let be a scheme and let be an -scheme, that is, a scheme equipped with a morphism (Schemes and morphisms over a base). We say that is separated over , or that is a separated -scheme, if the structure morphism is separated (Separated morphism of schemes). We say that a scheme is absolutely separated, or simply separated, if it is separated over .
Relative and absolute statements must name their base. Absolute separatedness is the case and concerns the diagonal . Absolute separatedness implies separatedness over every base equipped with a morphism : the diagonal is the pullback of along . Indeed, a pair of maps to in this pullback must coincide, which identifies the pullback with . Closed immersions survive this base change (Base change of immersions). Conversely separatedness over is a property of the structure morphism and constrains only the diagonal . The effect of changing the base and of composing structure morphisms is established by the lemmas on this page rather than assumed here.
