How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Support of a module sheaf
Definition
Let be a ringed space and let be an -module (Modules on a ringed space). The support of is the set of points at which its stalk is nonzero, where denotes the stalk of at (The stalk of a presheaf at a point).
The support is thus a subset of determined by the stalks of ; it is not determined by the zero set of one chosen global or local section. The definition is invariant under isomorphism: implies . One has , since the zero module has zero stalks, and, whenever all structure stalks are nonzero (in particular on a scheme), . For an open subscheme the support of the restriction is because the stalk of the restriction at is .
