How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Reversible thermodynamic process record

Physical scope

Admitted closed process records with equilibrium endpoints in the nonrelativistic macroscopic thermodynamic framework; reversibility is relative to the declared system, auxiliary-device boundary, and transfer protocol.

Definition

Let P=(IP,xP−,xP+,zP,κP,rP) be an admitted closed process record as defined in Thermodynamic process records and transfer conventions, with equilibrium endpoints xP−,xP+∈Dc. The record is reversible relative to its declared boundary and protocol when the model also admits a reverse record Prev for the same system and material constitution, starting at xP+ and ending at xP−, such that every auxiliary and device state specified by the protocol is restored to its initial state and every signed boundary transfer is reversed. In particular,

Q[Prev]=−Q[P],Won[Prev]=−Won[P].

If the protocol records additional transfer channels, their signed values must likewise be negatives of their forward values. A record that is slow is not reversible merely because it is slow; it must satisfy the reverse-record condition above. Reversibility is therefore relative to what the model includes inside the boundary and which reverse controls it admits.
