How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Finite-site canonical law and microcanonical shell

Definition

Fix a finite alphabet A={1,…,q}, q≥1, and real single-site energies e1,…,eq in a fixed energy unit. At inverse parameter β∈R, define Z1(β):=∑j=1qe−βej,pj(β):=e−βej/Z1(β),E(β):=∑j=1qpj(β)ej. For N≥1, a configuration i=(i1,…,iN)∈AN has additive energy HN(i):=∑r=1Neir. Given a width δN≥0, the shell is ΓN(β,δN):={i∈AN:∣HN(i)−NE(β)∣≤δN}. When this finite set is nonempty, its microcanonical law means the uniform probability on ΓN, and its dimensionless entropy is log⁡∣ΓN∣. A type is a vector t=(n1/N,…,nq/N), where the nonnegative integer counts sum to N; its multiplicity is N!/∏jnj!.

The convention fixes both the shell center and the law within the shell. It makes no physical claim that an apparatus has resolution δN.
