How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Ornstein–Uhlenbeck integral equation

Definition

Let (Ω,F,(Ft)t≥0,P) carry a standard Brownian motion B adapted to the filtration, with future increments independent of the present sigma-algebra. Fix constants γ>0 and σ>0, and an F0-measurable real random variable X0 with finite second moment. A continuous adapted solution of the Ornstein–Uhlenbeck equation on [0,T] is a continuous adapted process X satisfying, almost surely for every t∈[0,T], Xt=X0−γ∫0tXs ds+σBt, where the time integral is the ordinary Lebesgue integral along the continuous path. In differential notation this is dXt=−γXt dt+σ dBt, with the stochastic differential interpreted through the displayed integral equation.

The definition asserts neither existence nor uniqueness. The Itô integral in the explicit representation is the square-integrable predictable-process integral of Ito integral for square-integrable predictable processes.
