How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Regular energy shell and weighted area measure

Definition

Let O⊂Rm, m≥2, be open, let H∈C2(O,R), and let J⊂R be open. An energy E∈J is regular if ∇H(x)≠0 for every x∈ΣE:=H−1({E}). By the implicit-function theorem, a neighborhood of each point of a nonempty regular level is a graph xi=h(z).

In a graph chart, use the local area density 1+∣∇h(z)∣2 dz, where dz is (m−1)-dimensional Lebesgue measure. A graph partition on ΣE is a locally finite graph-chart cover with nonnegative smooth functions χa supported in their respective charts and summing to one on the level. Whenever such a partition is supplied, define the candidate weighted shell integral by μE(g):=∑a∫g(z,ha(z))χa(z,ha(z))∣∂iH(z,ha(z))∣−1 dz for nonnegative Borel g. Its independence from the chosen chart partition, and its equality with ∫ΣEg∣∇H∣−1dAE, are proved in the theorem on this page. If 0<μE(1)<∞, the microcanonical shell probability is μ^E:=μE/μE(1).

This is an explicit chart-based definition, not a formal delta distribution δ(H−E). Critical levels are excluded.
