How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Stable power-tempered pair-potential model
Definition
Fix a positive integer and use the Euclidean space with norm of The Euclidean inner product on . A pair potential is an even Borel-measurable function whose image is contained in . Here is the extended real line (The extended real line , its order, and the arithmetic that is left undefined). Borel measurability means the inverse image of each Borel subset of belongs to the Borel sigma-algebra generated by open sets in the Euclidean topology on (The Borel sigma-algebra on the extended real line, The Borel sigma-algebra of a topological space). Even means . The value represents a forbidden pair separation. Coordinates and potential values are numerical values in fixed reference length and energy units.
For and an ordered configuration , define its pair energy by with an empty sum equal to ; also put . The finite sum is in , since each pair term is real or .
The pair potential is stable if there is a finite constant such that for every and every configuration. It is power-tempered if there are constants such that whenever , and, on that set, the ordinary real absolute value satisfies The combined model class consists of pair potentials that are both stable and power-tempered. No condition is imposed on the positive core, which may be unbounded or infinite, and the tail may have either sign.
