How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Uniform ideal-gas state is an unchanged numerical step
A symbolic one-step fixed-point calculation for a spatially uniform positive state in the specified periodic ideal-gas Euler model. It illustrates constant-state preservation only; it describes neither a shock nor a reported physical observation.
Example
For a dimensionless , define the admissible state set
Fix a dimensionless , , metres, and seconds on a one-dimensional uniform periodic mesh. Choose one calorically perfect ideal-gas state , where is mass density in kilograms per cubic metre, is momentum density in kilograms per square metre second, is total energy density in joules per cubic metre, is velocity in metres per second, and is specific internal energy in joules per kilogram. Set in pascals, in metres per second, and with mass, momentum, and energy flux components in kilograms per square metre second, pascals, and watts per square metre. Put in seconds per metre. In every cell set , and at every face use the same speed in metres per second with and , the symmetric HLL flux and the update Every face flux equals , so for every cell and the positive density and pressure remain unchanged. This uniform state has no shock; the calculation is a symbolic model example, not a reported measurement.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: The adopted ideal-gas model, one state , a periodic mesh with , and the stated shared symmetric HLL flux and update.
Positive first-order compressible model update: with , , periodic states in , symmetric face speeds , and , the update uses and .
Verification
At every face, , so substitution into [F1] gives
Both periodic face fluxes adjacent to cell therefore equal . Substitution into the update in [F1] gives . Since , its density and pressure are positive, and they are unchanged by the step. This is a symbolic model deduction.
