How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
The Bingham graph at zero contains nonzero tensors
Example
Let denote the real matrices and set , the space of trace-free symmetric matrices with Frobenius product and norm . Let , let , and use the Frobenius-norm Bingham graph whose zero-rate value is . The tensor
is nonzero, trace-free, and has Frobenius norm , so . Thus zero strain rate does not imply zero deviatoric stress in this set-valued Bingham model.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: A yield parameter , the tensor , and the Bingham graph in the Example.
Verification
Given: The data in the Example and Facts & Assumptions.
The diagonal entries of sum to zero, so ; its squared Frobenius norm is , and because .
By [F1] and step 1.1, places in .
The pair is therefore an element of the graph, which refutes the implication that zero strain rate forces zero deviatoric stress for this model.
