How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
The relative-velocity decomposition of a boost, checked in an explicit tetrad
Example
Let and the constant boosted tetrad field be as in A constant boosted tetrad field on flat spacetime and an adapted chart, with future unit timelike, unit spacelike and . Let , and , and set
Then is future unit timelike, , , , and whenever . This verifies the relative-velocity decomposition theorem of the tensors page in an explicit family.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The constant boosted tetrad on with flat metric , its first member , parameters , , , and the vectors , .
The fields , satisfy , , ; is future-directed; and , (A constant boosted tetrad field on flat spacetime and an adapted chart).
If is an observer, , is future unit timelike and , , then , and (Relative velocity decomposition of a future unit timelike vector).
An observer is a future-directed unit timelike vector; the spatial projection is (Observers, rest spaces and the spatial projection at an event), and a nonzero causal vector is future-directed exactly when (Smooth time-oriented Lorentzian four-manifolds: the geometric objects of the model).
Verification
Since , and by [L1], bilinearity gives , so is unit timelike. Moreover and by [L1], so ; by [L3] the vector is future-directed.
By [L3] and [L1], . Moreover , since ; hence and .
The identities and hold by definition of and [L1]; since , we have for , while for the vector vanishes and . Thus the explicit pair is exactly the decomposition produced by [L2] for , and .
Remarks
The example is the flat-spacetime boost written in the abstract split of a single tetrad: no coordinate chart enters, and the only data are the observer , the spatial direction , the speed parameter and the conversion constant .
