How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Dirac rest projections and two spin-component sectors
Example
Take the fiber matrices of Dirac Clifford matrices and energy projections at with . Then and the positive and negative matrix eigenspaces each have dimension two. Define the dimensionless third spin-component matrix in this Pauli-block representation by ; here the two spin-component sectors mean its and eigenspaces within each energy eigenspace. The coordinate spinors below are vectors in the finite-dimensional fiber ; they are not point-supported, normalizable vectors in the continuum Hilbert space . For , the point is the omitted mass-shell apex, so this example makes no massless rest-state claim.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: , , the fixed Pauli-block matrices and energy projections, and the ordinary Hermitian inner product on .
, , , and . Dirac Clifford matrices and energy projections
are complementary orthogonal projections of rank two. Dirac matrix identities and orthogonal energy projections
Verification
Given: The data and matrix conventions in [F1]–[F2].
At , the definition gives and . Since , , so and .
Write , , , and . The first two standard coordinate vectors span and the last two span ; they are orthonormal in . The matrix has eigenvalue on and on . Thus each of the two rank-two energy eigenspaces is the orthogonal sum of its two one-dimensional spin-component eigenspaces, agreeing with [F2].
