How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Timeordered derivative jump gives iδ Green source

Example

Let μ≥0, ωμ(k)=∣k∣2+μ2, and for a fixed k with ωμ(k)>0 set gωμ(t)=e−iωμ(k)∣t∣2ωμ(k). This is the time-mode factor of the tempered scalar carrier in Tempered time-ordered scalar two-point carrier. Its first derivative has jump −i at t=0, giving the Green source iδ0 after applying the (−,+,+,+) Klein–Gordon operator and Fourier-inverting the spatial momentum.

Facts & Assumptions

Given: μ≥0, a fixed momentum with ωμ(k)>0, and the QFT-MF04 tempered kernel with its (−,+,+,+) convention and no extra prefactor i.

[F1]

The carrier is defined by the partial spatial Fourier factor e−iωμ(k)∣t∣/(2ωμ(k)) and satisfies (□−μ2)Hμ=iδ0. Tempered time-ordered scalar two-point carrier

Verification

1.1givenF1algebra

On t>0, gω(t)=e−iωt/(2ω) and gω′(t)=−i2e−iωt, so gω′(0+)=−i/2. On t<0, gω(t)=eiωt/(2ω) and gω′(t)=+i2eiωt, so gω′(0−)=+i/2. The function is continuous at 0, and the derivative jump is gω′(0+)−gω′(0−)=−i.

2.1givenstep 1.1algebra

For a compactly supported smooth test η, integrate by parts twice on each half-line. The boundary terms from gω(0+)=gω(0−) cancel, while the derivative boundary term contributes −iη(0); away from 0 the ordinary equation gω′′=−ω2gω holds. Hence gω′′+ω2gω=−iδ0 distributionally.

3.1F1step 2.1algebra∎

In the fixed convention, □−μ2 acts on the spatial Fourier mode by −(∂t2+ωμ(k)2). Applying it to 2.1 gives +iδ0(t) for every k≠0 when μ=0, and for every k when μ>0. The omitted massless apex has measure zero and the shell density is locally integrable there; spatial Fourier inversion therefore gives iδ0(t,x), exactly as in [F1].
