How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Finite bath can stabilize negative heat capacity exchange
Example
Take a negative-capacity subsystem at an interior energy with Gibbs-volume temperature and capacity , as in Finite-bath entropy curvature and specified exchange stability. Set . For any energy offset in joules, reference temperature in kelvin, and additive entropy constant in , take and choose . The argument of the logarithm is dimensionless.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: A negative-capacity finite subsystem at common temperature and the selected finite-bath exchange model.
For the specified finite-bath entropy and exchange law, gives strict negative combined-entropy curvature and local exponential attraction under . (Finite-bath entropy curvature and specified exchange stability)
Verification
Differentiating the displayed bath entropy gives , so and . The chosen makes .
Since , the reciprocal-capacity sum is . At the matched-temperature critical point, [F1] gives Thus the combined entropy has a strict local maximum in this exchange direction.
The selected effective law has nonnegative entropy production and exponentially attracts this local maximum by [F1]. This is a constructed mathematical reservoir model, not empirical data or a generic gravitational stability conclusion.
