How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Gauge-longitudinal kernel decoupling for explicit tree currents
Statement
Use from Off-shell free Dirac Ward telescoping and tree currents for contractions: for , set , and sum repeated component indices over . Let be future-shell momenta for the same convention as that lemma, and suppose . Define with the on-shell Dirac equations in Off-shell free Dirac Ward telescoping and tree currents. If a finite rational covariant-gauge kernel changes by , where is finite at the chosen , then Likewise, let with transfer , or with transfer , under the respective future-shell and Dirac-equation hypotheses of Off-shell free Dirac Ward telescoping and tree currents. If or , then for and a finite , the contraction is unchanged by . These statements concern only the displayed finite tree-current contractions; they assert no gauge independence for arbitrary loop diagrams or renormalization schemes.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The four future-shell spinors and momenta in the Statement, with transfers and on the two fermion lines.
Off-shell free Dirac Ward telescoping and tree currents: for each stated on-shell Dirac current, contraction with its momentum transfer is zero; the proof uses the fixed slash convention.
; each displayed momentum lies on the future shell ; the two kernel currents' spinors satisfy the positive-energy Dirac equations in the cited tree lemma; ; and is finite at the selected . In the separate polarization clause, the chosen current satisfies the respective positive- or negative-energy equations of that lemma, its transfer equals or , and and are finite data. All contractions use as specified in the Statement.
Proof
The first line has transfer , so [F1] gives . The second line has transfer , so , hence .
Contracting the longitudinal kernel gives by [step 1.1].
For either polarization-current form in the Statement, [F1] gives . Since [A1] requires or , it follows that . Lowering the shifted polarization with , the change in its contraction is . This proves the polarization claim for both explicit current types, including the transfer of the second kernel current.
