How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Scaling invariance of thermal equivalence

Statement

Under T1–T3 and the equal-state reversible split in Thermal joins and conditional contact hypotheses, if x∼Ty then sx∼Tty for every s,t>0.

Facts & Assumptions

Given: The contact and scaling assumptions for tagged states and their joins.

[A1]

Thermal joins and conditional contact hypotheses: each equal-state scaled pair is reversibly equivalent to its join, and thermal equivalence is transitive.

Proof

1.1A1given

Let x be any typed state and s>0. The state z=(1+s)x in the scaled type has the equal-state reversible split with fractions 1/(1+s) and s/(1+s); its two components are exactly x and sx. Thus (x,sx) is reversible with its join, which by definition is x∼Tsx. The same argument gives y∼Tty.

2.1A1step 1.1given∎

Since x∼Ty, symmetry gives y∼Tx. Transitivity with x∼Tsx yields y∼Tsx; symmetry then gives sx∼Ty. Transitivity with y∼Tty now yields sx∼Tty.
