How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
A global potential compensator makes the contracted field exact
Statement
Let be a smooth time-oriented Lorentzian domain, let be a smooth future-timelike Killing field on , and let be a global smooth one-form with . Suppose a global smooth scalar satisfies . Define and , with . Then
so is exact. This identity uses the global potential symmetry and assumes no charged trajectory or conservation law.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: A smooth time-oriented Lorentzian domain , a smooth future-timelike Killing field , a global smooth one-form with , and a global smooth scalar satisfying .
Charged particle and Liouville data on a stationary Lorentzian domain: , , , and for the supplied global potential data.
Closed and exact differential forms: a one-form is exact when it is the exterior derivative of a globally defined smooth scalar.
The global compensator equation holds on all of .
Proof
In any smooth chart, the definitions give and . By [A1] and [F1], . Substitution yields . Since this calculation holds in every chart, it proves the stated one-form identity.
The scalar is global and smooth because it is the contraction of globally defined smooth fields minus a global smooth scalar. Thus step 1.1 gives globally, which is exact by [F2].
